In California, the famous hotel chain was served with an expansive class action lawsuit alleging various violations of California labor law. The suit claims that Hilton failed to provide meal or rest breaks and did not pay all overtime in accordance with the labor code.

Hilton Worldwide runs popular hotels like the Doubletree, Embassy Suites, and the Waldorf Astoria, amongst other well-known and well-used hotels. At the center of this lawsuit is lead plaintiff Nelson Chico.

Chico was an employee at various Hilton hotels, and he alleges that the company failed to provide itemized wage statements as mandated by the law, forced employees to work off the clock, created policies that disallowed meals and rest breaks, and did not pay minimum wage for all hours worked.
